Wired to Wireless Xbox 360 Controllers?

Post by RyuujinZero »

I was wondering, is it possible to convert a wired Xbox 360 controller to wireless? I have two controllers I had to open up and remove the cord from because both had shorts. I'd rather try making them wireless first than soldering in new USB cords.

ya you just need some 2 way wireless transmitters and some batteries to power the controller, its cheaper just to buy a wireless

I'm trying to make a wireless N64 controller, and it is ridiculously hard and expensive. And the N64 only has 1 data pin! The XBox controller has more. Best option is just to put on new USB cables.

Forget it.

From what I know, Wired and Wireless controllers are way way different. Not worth the effort.

It can't be done and even with any kind of wireless USB adapter it still isn't going to work. The 360 controllers have a security protocol that those USB adapters don't have, so the 360 wouldn't even recognize them except for using maybe a USB flash drive or keyboard, no Wired 360 controllers, 1st or 3rd party, would work on the 360 with them.

You're much better off just getting a Wireless 360 controller.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
