WTB: Expansion Pak

Post by Neildo_64 »

I need an expansion pak as quickly as I can get one. Anyone have one they're willing to give up? I can trade some things or buy via paypal.

Far along in your N64 portable, huh?

I have one, but I'm not giving it up. Sorry. :)

Same here. Are you hardwiring an expansion pack? I'm leaving a slot open, so I can put in a jumper pack (more battery life) or an expansion pack (some games need it).

I think I am just leaving it with the slot. It will be relocated if I have issues with it the way it is, but I think it will be fine. I'm trying to avoid soldering all the tiny traces and wires  . I've done one jumper pak relocation before, but if I can avoid it, I will.

The expansion pack draws 500ma more than the jumper pack does. That's more than an LED modded PS1 screen! I would hardwire a jumper pack, but a couple really great games require it. I would also do an expansion pack, but only a few games require it and it draws a lot of power. I'm just going to have a slot to plug in either one.

Does the Expansion Pak still use more power on games that don't make use of it?

Yeah thats also part of the reason I'm leaving the slot. Not that it will be accessible without taking apart the portable, but it will be there. Also if the expansion/jumper pak gets damaged somehow, its not hell to replace it - it's as easy as changing an NES game.

Wait, the slot is going to be on the inside for you? Mine is on the outside.

Yeah, I'm keeping it internal. I'm not 100% sure about how the case will look other than the front though. I'm not going to show any pics or tell anything about it until it is done. Then after our few precious moments together, it will be shipped off to it's new home where it will be loved and enjoyed everyday (or something like that).

I may have one. I'll have to check.

I'd be more interested in trading it for two or three jumper packs than selling it. Is that a possibility?

I want an original first party expansion pak (forgot to mention that) so as long as thats what it is, I'll trade ya (IF you have one). Lemme check to see how many jumper paks I have. Depending on what I have I'll either trade you 2 or 3. Would that work for you?

Edit: I've been looking through my stuff and I guess I don't have any extra jumper paks... :? So unless I find some more (doubtful but possible) I can't trade you 2 or 3. I was pretty sure I had at least a few extras, but I guess not. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Any other stuff you'd be interested in for trading? I have a couple third party N64 memory paks to get rid of.
