Going to build a cart, need advice

Post by Exdeath »

I'm going to build a reproduction copy of FF2, and I need some advice on the parts. I'm going to use EEPROMs from gamereproduction.com, and one of my own carts so as to save money. The docs I've read say that FF2 uses UNROM mapper, but I've read on nesreproductions.com that it requires donor carts using MMC1. Is that ok if I use a MMC1 game cartridge?
Secondly, If I actually get around to it, how should I install the chip(s)? I've looked on raphnet.net, but he neglected to put up a blueprint or pinout drawing.
Finally, I admit I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to code and programming.

I know about premade stuff, I just wanted to make my own :p. If it turns out to cost less, I'll buy from them.
