Hello all this is my first post. I am building my first portabe out of a ps one console and I must thank Ben for the inspiration. Already bought the book and love it.
My problem is I have two ps-one units one is manufactured sept. 2000 the other says date code 2c. When I opened the two units I found the boards are different. The newer version is missing some chips and has a smaller cpu. The five (so) fuses on lower left of board are missing and the dimensions of the actual circuit board are .75 inches less in width. seems to be an updated board. I want to install a mod chip to play my archived games. Three soldering points for the mod chip are not where they are suppose to be compared to the origional board. I want to post pics. I dont know how but I will try. Any help will be appreciated.
