also, any significant changes to gun laws (eg gun bans etc) cant and wont happen, yes making it harder to get guns etc might but they cant take away our guns, it wont work

You know, if it was possible for any of you to stay neutral, or at least discuss this topic intelligently, we might not have had to ban political talk. But, I guess it doesn't matter anyway since the mods are likely all liberals.

I'm headed to bed, but I wanted to tell youa ll a short story from when I was like...FIVE.

My aunts got me a ruler - don't remember why - It was white, and had the faces and names of all the presidents of the time on it. I examined it, and took it to my mom. I explained to her that the ruler was broken. She looked at it and said "It's not broken.". Which was true. It was in perfect working order. But I insisted it was broken, and I responded with "But there aren't any black presidents."

I remember this ruler clear as day and still have it someplace.

Today that ruler was repaired.

That said, I don't see Obama for the color of his skin. Hes a honest, straight forward man. I see him for his values. I see him for who he is.

A person's skin is black. A person's skin is white. But don't we all share a commonality? We all can think for ourselves. We can also band together. We can all chose to agree or disagree with one another. We can all make good and bad choices alike. That is the true person. And that cannot be judged simply by the color of your skin. That's being human.

You may not understand this next part, but I'm going to say my piece.

I was born with no siblings. I still have none today. My friends are my brothers and sisters, and I rank friendship on par with that because of it. I consider Obama a friend for many reasons (most wont understand, so I wont go into it). And as thus, my brother.

I am too, and I'm not even Amerkin... I'm in Australia right now, and I still waited all day to hear the results becuase I know its going to directly affect Canada when I return. And I truly believe that this is one of the best things to happen to the world really in a long time. Positive change is coming.
