CAD isnt even a gaming comic anymore.

Just a comic where they try to make us feel sorry for the characters

You are always Negative, Negative Creep. Hmmm I wonder how he got his username

Ctrlaltdel is not a Gaming comic in the way you see every other gaming webcomic.

Ctrlaltdel is a webcomic about some gamers lives, with the occasional game jokes. Which is why Ctrlaltdel has smaller strips on the Site called Sillies.

Nah the comic used to have a lot of game related humour but not so much recently.

It's still a good read sometimes, but it's not really a gaming comic anymore..

It's a gamer comic ;).

And believe it or not, gamers can have lives, too.

I love the storylines, but also miss the frequent game related humor :(...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

But it's not really a character driven comic either, because none of the characters have really changed since their inception.

Ethan is still an idiotic Mary-Sue who everyone tolerates for some reason

Lucas still does nothing relevant

Zeke is a robot with distaste for humanity

Lilah is the akimbo-armed, eyerolling nanny who cleans up Ethan's whoopsies and for some inexplicable reason stays in a relationship with him.

They have changed little since they were introduced.

Take the latest comic arc, for example. Tim builds up and builds up in his own way (surplus panels and word balloons for all), only to show Lilah turning that other guy in to airport security under false pretenses and going back to Ethan automatically. Next couple weeks, if we don't flounder around on a game parody binge, will involve Ethan rebuilding Zeke and finding out who broke him in the first place in his own childish way.

There's little continuity, as well. (With the exception of that one arc where they had to move because the apartment blew up.) It always follows the same formula:

Setup - Buildup - Buildup - Wham it's over in 2 comics or less - status quo - LOL PARODIES LOL

Part of the problem is his obsession with the 2x2 panel and overuse of superfluous words. I did an experiment a couple months back where I took random CAD strips, knocked them down to 3 panels, removed text, and didn't negatively impact the comic at all. It's not hard.

Don't even get me started on the stolen jokes, virtually unchanged arc, and lost potential. Tim draws much better than that when he tries (go look at the art blog), and of course, the recycled copy/paste facial features.

If you want characters, go for Questionable Content.
If you want video games, go for Penny Arcade or Digital Unrest.
If you want characters but are afraid of changing art, go with Real Life by Greg Dean. (It's drawn in Illustrator, so the art style is static for the most part. However, it shows what character writing can do.)

Yeah I know, but it doesn't change the fact that CAD is a strange form of an average-day soap opera, when it's supposed to be a gaming comic. I mean I know gamers have lives, but the comic in it's silly soap-opera form feels just dumbed-down and untrue.

And this arc has been pathetic, the forums are a pretty good example no offense to anyone there, but I was looking forward to seeing Lilah dump Ethan for Christian because at least Christian isn't so one-dimensional

Go start a cad thread

I really don't care what any of you think of it. I have never been a fan either but this is not the place to discuss it.

Trying to say organized >_< don't need pages of crap to sift through.

Wow, people actually expect story out of webcomics? It's cool if you like the emotional development and all, but you wouldn't look for an epic character-driven adventure in a Mario game, would you?

As for CaD, it's okay. I miss the humor, but I didn't exactly like Buckley's out-of-story gaming arcs. If he kept it exactly the same as it is now and had more gaming-related gaffes, it'd be fairly entertaining. I had hopes for Fanboys, as it largely fit that archetype, but unfortunately after its long break from having any new comics it has come back with crappy art direction and weaker characters. The high point was when Paul revealed his Sega fanboyism, everything went downhill from there, though... :(

CAD is terrible. Some of the parody's I've seen are slightly funny, but the regular story part is god awful. I've tried to read them on several occasions but I just can't stand to sit through them.

QC was mentioned my bic, I love QC! I read about 950 pages in a day in a half to catch up with the story when I found it.

That aside, Thingpart is the best webcomic ever

Are those two comics supposed to be funny? cause I didn't laugh, nor did I even chuckle.

I enjoy CAD, not as much as VGcats, but I enjoy CAD cause at least Tim updates 3 times a week, and not like VGcats where they update what, twice a month? And there is always excuses on why he doesn't update weekly.

I agree Fanboys has gone downhill bigtime, I liked it better when there was at least an arc of strips, now everything is just random lately.

I personally still like CAD, it doesn't have what it used to but I guess I grew out of what I used to like about it. I appreciate his dedication to it (even though it's his job).

I've found this one comic called Daisy Owl. It's not too bad, has some good humor to it. Then Least I Could Do is also one of my favorites. Oh and I love Questionable Content!
