Well "Knows Whats Up" the reason they used a NOAC is their dirt cheap! Why invest all the money in making a custome chip when you can simply buy thousands of NOACs (that are like cents if that to make) and so rewrite the games to run on the NES hardware (which I doubt is tough) and release it.
As my Linux teacher said "Programers dont like reinventing the wheele" and I think business men are the same.

fine, i'm with you guys, but ONLY if you can find me 3 GOOD reliable sources that actually SAY that it uses an nes on a chip, not say that it uses something similar...

i still know that you guys are wrong, the 7800/2600 have very very different hardware than that of the nes, so why reinvent the wheel when you can emulate it?

exactly our point. It's easier to use existing hardware (by that I mean NOAC) and just reprogram the games then to make new hardware and still reprogram the games

i don't know why this is so hard to understand!

you give me good reliable links that actually say that it is an NES on a chip and i'll eat my words, not kidding, i'll print this page and i'll eat it!

the atari 7800 and the nes are two TOTALLY different game systems, different cpu, different ram, etc...

i know you think it would be easier just to "reprogram" them for the nes, but it wouldn't, this thing has 10-20 games...i can't remember off hand...that would have to be remade for the nes!

thats why it is in fact NOT an nes, it is using an emulator of the atari 7800 hardware, this way than can just modify the roms to suit the controls and place them on the rom chip!

i knwo the fact that i don't have as many posts as you makes you feel as tho you are smarter than me...

with age comes knowledge...

i have a programming background and i know for a fact that it would be easier to write the emulator than rewrite 20 games for a totally different system

i know it doesn't say that it ISN'T any where...but juat because of that doesn't mean that it is an nes on a chip...i'm still waiting for those links...

can you get me the number of pins on each of the removable chips?

the ones that are glop tops on seperate pcbs that are soldered to the main one? and any numbers that are on em would be great also...

there is a SMALL chance that this thing might actually be able to play games from carts...

not nes games tho

if either of these chips is a rom chip then i might be able to find some docs for it and wire up a cartrigde connector...

I'm sure I counted more then one (you should try sending me a high res pic HK-47, PM me), on what looks like the main chip (largest glob top) I came to the count of 80. Yeah I think I chould have been as many as 10 over.

Now I still cant settle with the idea that they made their own chip its just not proper business fashion to spend money when you can find a cheaper solution.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the NES superiour to the Atari 7800?
