toploading NES portable?

the nes top-loader isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

they don't freeze when you bump them and the lines aren't worth bothering to solder on your nintendo for.

I actually don't mind using the original NES.

DUH: If you keep blowing into a cartrige, it may work.

HINT: If you blow into cartriges for an extended period of time, you will eventually feel high.

Extra Hint: blowing into the cartridge can cause oxidation and ruin your games

But that's never stopped me, and my games still work fine

Well, I'm reviving this thread again, but now because I have a NES Top Loader, but I have some questions again, I might use it for a portable (I know it's rare and all, but hey its smaller than the original NES).

The only problem is that I bought it without cables or hook-ups, and I need to know if they can use the same cables (RF / A/V, and AC adapter), well I already know there's no A/V cable for the Top Loader, but is there a converter or something like that?

Well those are my questions for now, but I know new ones will arise as I continue (to tell the truth...start) with all my portable projects.

Wait, so the original NES, actually DID have an A/V port.

The Original NES had a port for RF and also it had ports for A/V (just one plug for sound and one for video), you need to have a male-male A/V cable (usually provided with the NES).

Yeah, I didn't even get an RF adaptor with my NES because it has composite already.

I believe the RF adaptor for the NES, NES toploader, and (possibly) SNES are all the same. Either way it's just a box with an automatic A/B switch in it, right? In theory wouldn't an RF adaptor from RadioShack work? (or for that matter a Female-RCA-to-male-Coaxial connector?

RF for the SNES and NES is the same, I have them both, and they are interchangable. In fact, the one that came with my SNES says right on it "(S)NES". It's the exact same grey box.

In fact, the same one can be bought for the N64 and GameCube. I have even sucessfully used one with a Commodore 64 and Bally Arcade.
