The only games I don't finish are the one's that I don't enjoy playing. I've never played a game that's too hard for me.

Same here.
Example of game I did not finish: Resident Evil
the controls sucked all-around, the camera sucked (come on, zombie hiding under chandelier when in real life, its right in front of the character's face!), limited saves meaning that I couldn't take the game at my own pace, very limited ammo (which wouldn't be as big a problem if the melee didn't suck).

sometimes, though, I admit that I stop playing a game after getting stuck, but I always come back, be it weeks or even months later, and finish it.

I try to avoid games that require those puzzle to advance.... like the puzzles in FFX. I got to the scared lands and left the game there.

Other games that are not quite so, as I'd put it, complex, I can get through anywhere from easy, to some trial and error, to "about time I figured it out."

Really I'd have to say that the only game that was C for me, would have to be Contra, or Kid Icerus (sp?), or some of the other NES/SNES games. Those games were sometimes insanely hard.

I am a geek.

dam casual gamers /snicker

Games that are truly hard for me.

All the NES Megamans and Megaman 9
Zelda 2
Contra
Battalion Wars (last couple missions)
System Shock
Doom (some parts are ridicules)
Resident Evil
[Insert other NES games here]

Games I have yet to finish after starting them

Megaman 9 no less

*Lets see I can play all the HL games on Hard and not die.
*Bioshock on Hard and not die.
*GOW I can play on "Hardcore" mode with ease.
*Don't even get me started on what a joke Haloz is.
*Modern Zelda games are way to easy.
*RE4 is a joke in difficulty (only difficult part are those grey blob dudes and those are dispatched quite easily if your Mac 10 is upgraded and you have some grenades).
*Doom 3 was only "hard" cause half the time you can't flippin see what your shooting at.
*Modern Mario games haven't gotten TO easy but they are allot more forgiving then there NES and SNES cousins.

(Notice the lack of RPGs..I don't like them >_>)

Not saying these games are bad but the general trend makes it seem that it is not even worth playing modern games as theres no challenge left. Why play a game that doesn't challenge your skill? No one brags about brushing their teeth everyday cause everyone does it! Beating MM9 is worth the bragging rights.

A game should be designed where boss fights are HARD (as they should be and should you know kill you sometimes) and levels should be designed to make you feel like you are going to die around the next corner or next zombie.

Modern gamers are spoiled with such luxuries as save states, quick saves, and baby easy games. Don't say you don't have time to play games or a boss multiple times. Its not my fault your a bad gamer and have poor skillz. Maybe you should go play cooking mama? That should be up your skill ally.

I am hoping Dead Space (which im picking up soon) is actually challenging. By the look of the reviews it looks like it will be allot of "keep on your toes" moments so thats always a plus. Toss in a harsh environment and zombies it could make for a chance for me to die for a change.

In all, Games should be entertaining, fun, and challenging. It seems that most developers have forgotten the "Challenging" part. Without it is playing a game any different then watching a movie?

The main one I can think of right now is MegaMan X. I love the game so much, but I have never beaten it!

By the way, nice avatar Parker.

I like to play manic shoot-em-ups so I think that speaks for itself haha

I can get kinda far in Ikaruga, beaten Donpachi/Dodonpachi (infinite continues lol) and was kicking ass at Batsugun at MGC last year
