You have to switch to piano roll mode...then you can sqeunce the beats which the right pitch and crasp..then you switch the the other mode...pattern? It's like piano roll except the loops you make yourself like drums and guitar together in one verse then get's placed where you want, the chorus where you want etc.

FL Studio is NOT good for beginners. I am very fluent in FL Studio and it is very complicated (I've been using it since Fruity Loops v3). You can't just hit record and set up tracks and such. I would not recommend it unless you are wanting the full set of godly features you get with FL Studio, not just for recording. I use FL Studio, but I do not use it for recording. As for recording, I just use audacity. After recording, I put my tracks in FL Studio and do whatever. FL Studio rocks, but not until you are familiar with it. Just keep playing with it and you'll learn to do amazing things.
