It doesn't seem to have the clarity that the PSone screen does, interestingly. Nice sized screen though.
My understanding is that the PSone screen is 320 x 240, although it claims to double this via interpolation (?); can't find the native resolution of the PS2 screen. Anyone know it, or any thoughts??
Why is the definition of the PS2 screen not as good as for the PSone screen (eg text)? I got it to make a dedicated GameCube portable at some point.
It's probably of lower picture quality due to lower build quality. Some of the third party screens have horrible uber-cheap LCDs, so they suck even if they have as good of resolution as the Sony PSOne LCD.
There's also a minor subjective quality loss when you go to a larger screen with the same res. Larger screen with the same res mean that the DPI is lower.

No, the PS2 spits out a different kind of composite that is only accepted by this particular screen. It has something to do with the fact that the screen manufacturer contacted Sony and asked them to entirely re-work their entire PS2 board. Strangely enough Sony actually complied and all of the PS2 slims have this added feature. There is a converter box that sells for about $50 that converts the regular composite to composite-R which is the type of input this screen takes. So, it is possible to make a psonep out of these screen but the box requires about 52 watts to run (at 120vac) So, it would be pretty hard to make a portable out of this.
Also, these screens only accept +7.5v and -7.5v, which is the only kind power it will run off of. Keep in mind that this energy is only generated by the ps2 slim. Once again there is a box that spits this out and it is about $23 in China.

.... yeah obviously I was BSing but it was just such a stupid question I didn't even feel like dignifying it with a somewhat useful answer. Also I was kind of hoping he would reply first, just so I could get an idea of the technology illiteracy.
jeez, i just wanted a yes or no answer. i asked cuz it wasnt on the screen list and thought it could be used just for a ps2. ive never heard of the screen before anyway.
