Just finished my genuine NES Portable!

I wish I'd have found this site before I started construction, but I think it turned out pretty good for a first portable conversion:

I used a genuine 8-bit nintendo and converted it to a giant gameboy like contraption. It runs on Lithium Ion batteries for > 3 hours, have a recharge jack, and is housed in a home made lexan case.

hmm... how well does the cart. make contact with the slot?
Looks to me like you'd have to hold the cart down (unless you bent the slot pins)

Regarding the connector and pushing the game down:

I got one of those new ones off ebay and it's such a tight fit for the cart that I don't have to hold it down at all...at least, not yet.

The case is a bit of both on the fly designing and preplanning. I had taken all the circuits that needed to fit and laid them out, and then based on measurements of the circuit stack, I cut out the parts to build the case.

You say on your site that you got your psone lcd from allelectronics? Do you mean http://www.allelectronics.com/ because I am having a hard time finding it on their site.

I had gotten it quite a while back and they may not have any more. It was $80, don't know if that was a good deal or not.

Well fiddlesticks. When Toys R Us was liquidating these things, I got one for about $33, but I can't seem to find them that cheap anywhere. Not ebay, or amazon or anyplace I can think of looking. Does anyone know of a place to buy these for about $30 plus shipping?
