if i remember it right in physics a capacitor won't have a continuty because the two contacts on a capacitor are isulated from each other, so i doubt it is that. I'll need to spend more time with it and a multimeter. The way i was going to do it is hit each of the 23 wires (20+3) and then go to each pin on the IC to see which has the least resistance to each lead, and then would reveal which pin each wire belongs to, but even then do any of the wires directly relate to the IC on the back? We need an electronics major, I knew i shouldn't have took up networking, LOL.
My main goal is to hook it up as a Temp/Diag screen on a computer case, and to figure out what type of video signal i will need to work with. It would be awesome if we figure it out.
Well mine I believe is composite, second choice is component, definitely not RGB because of the way the IC is connected. pm me your e-mail and I'll send you the manufacturers datasheets on the IC and screen.

no progress, i created a makeshift RCA to alligator clips tester trying to hit multiple wires and having no luck.... I need to know what wires should be composite, i think the majority of the others are for adjustments such as brightness and things of that nature. The next thing i'm thinking of trying is getting the backlight lit up, that will be part one in figuring out what wires belong where. The last thing to worry about is the audio and where it gets fed to, that will help the process of elimination. If there is anyone else with a mintek dvd player that would like to help, by all means crack it open and have at it.
I have the bottem unit to this DVD player, I went on ebay and snooped around, picked on up for 25 dollars, so if the dvd player helps it will also help in getting me a 2nd screen. I will still need to figure out how to connect this to either a S-video or DVI. The only issue i have is the resolution is really small, i'd have to see on how that would be setup. The next thing after i get the screen going, is to add a touch screen connection as well.
