Laptop battery as a power source?

I've got an old lapttop battery that's still good from theother project I mentioned in another post. I'm wondering if I can still charge it with the laptops wall charger, minus the laptop itsself?
If so could someone give me the pinouts of a PS/2 charger connection and where to or how to get the pinout for the battery? Any homebrew circuitry or mod needed?

As long as it uses the right amount of volts
And has good Mah
You can use the same charger
Its very smart to use a protection circut
For the cord, just basic, black=ground other color=power
Just check to make sure first

would the circuit in the battery or charger not stop charging when it's full? Or does the laptop regulate that?
If so hwo could I make a simple LED circuit set to detect and turn on when the pack reaches about 90-95% capacity (for safety)?

it is working fine for me,I used for my gcp2 (wodden cube) a li-on pack from a old laptop, if you use the laptop charger too it should work fine. (if you use propper voltage regulators you also will be able to play meanwhile you charge the system , the laptops chargers usually have at least 3A)

this is a very economic and nice battery option for a custom portable (thats why I used it

)

yes,with the protection circuit it stop charging when it is full

(at least for mine it does ^^)
