My friend's BlackBerry has a problem with charging: the USB Mini-B port is broken on the BlackBerry, so it won't properly charge.

I have a spare port on a broken MP3 Player, would it be possible to switch the two ports?

It depends on how it was broken, there's a chance that the boar was actually damaged if it was broken off by an impact. Also, mini-B connectors are serious pain to deal with, all the ones I've seen have the shield over the pins, which means that you have to remove the shield, then desolder the pins, and do the reverse to get it back on.

The middle part is just broken, as far as I can tell. It doesn't look like a big problem, but I've never actually seen how one of these is put together.
