HELP! Casio TV-980b

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

HELP! Casio TV-980b

I'm a new portabilzer, working on my first portable (An SNES). So far, everything's been going smoothly, and seems to be in order. However, I have a bit of a problem with my screen. I'm attempting to use a Casio TV-980b, but can't find any information about the board.

Specifically, I'm trying to figure out where the +5v lead goes. It doesn't match up at all with the 660 or the 680 described in the book or on this site, and I can't seem to find any information elsewhere. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Casio TV-980 B - Yes you can add a video input

I found this TV online for $28 + shipping. The instructions are for the Casio 980B and the 980N. Only the N has a video input. However, popping off the cover of the 980B, you can immediately see a spot on the board for the video input jack, JK250. Ground the middle circular pin at the back of it to turn on the video input. Send your composite signal to ground and one of the 4 rectangular inputs. Using a Dremel tool and drill I was able to put a small wire out the battery compartment with power and video in. Very easy. Crappy picture, but it works for what I need (security monitor).

hey im pretty noobish so if anybody has this Casio TV-980B set up like described and would like to take a few pictures to show me so i can make sure i know what i am doing would be greatly appreciated.

also i have a soder but what else do i need?

I have TV980B and my question is do i need converter? Or do i need to contact anybody coz i know other old TV using antena need converter coz its analog and on feb 2009 not sure if this tv is included on that. please help me.

Four people with 1 post, all in a row. To answer your question lezlong, yes, but I'm not sure there are converters for these pocket tv's, but then again I don't know much about the pocket tv's to begin with.

Does anyone even use pocket TVs anymore? I can't remember the last time I saw one in the stores, and now you can get dedicated LCD screens for around the same price. :?
