Guys, it is not illigal to make portables, it is illigal to sell them, because your making a profit on something that isnt yours(that is if Nintendo or someone has a thing not allowing "reselling", or something along those lines. Im not sure if they do, and i dont really care, cause if/when i make my portable im sure as ell am not going to sell it.
I'm the man, if you don't think so, you're wrong.

the thing is, if you own somthing its is your RIGHT to sell it if you want. some conpanies (possibly M$ and otherslike the RIAA and MPAA) try to say that you dont own what you buy using stuff like DRM and the DMCA and other stupid laws and stuff. i dont know any of the specifics so your on your own :D

Triton for the most part is right. But the thing is that Software, music, and things with security locks are all under copyright and patient and in the grand U.S. of A thats the most important thing.

With hardware, esspecally when its over a decade old the patient has run out and so the company has no legal recorse. You can tell that kid that his dad need to go read a law book some time or stop giving out legal advice as he knows less about it then a rock.

Exaclty. If you buy hardware its yours to do with as you please, that includes selling it. With software there are usually some restrictions thanks to copyright, but in general the right of first sale still applies.

Plus, if you were right, then ebay would be in a whole mess of trouble.
Warrenties were meant to be voided

Besides, if it WERE illegal to re-sell old games, how do you think Gamestop has lasted this long?
