ok so i spent the last few hours trying to get this just right. Made the top part, the hand grip, out of fiberglass to keep it lightweight and just adapted the original N64 joystick. Finally got it right and decided to post it since, to my knowledge, it hasn't been done before; so correct me if im wrong. Its for my laptop-arcade style N64 so the joystick is detachable so the case will be able to close properly. Its not painted, just sanded down... dont plan on it to remain the green color.

Can't wait! so if you can unscrew it to take it off, does this mean you'll also have a normal joystick that you can screw in? Cause that would be sweet.

well if its unscrewed it basically is just the normal joystick, only slightly smaller at the top where your thumb rests. so it can be used as one if the long joystick wasnt something you liked. and as for the the button layout i planned to do something such as this...
but im not sure where to put the L button or even if i should have one at all. and as for the C button im going to replace it with a smaller joystick to conserve button space. any suggestions would be great.
thats gonna put a lot of strain on your hand I think...
Maybe you should the L button on the top close to the d-pad somewhere since that's the only time it's ever going to be used.

having 4 additional c buttons was my original idea, and to put it as 2 rows of buttons with 4 buttons each... i may go back to that idea. still not 100% sure yet

(1) - Joystick (pics work now): better with a third party one, like the SuperPad - larger wheels inside, heavier duty and maybe better and more precise to use with a longer stick.
(2) - Button layout - after I made the Nintendo 64 Advance, I realised that the button placement for the C buttons (in an arc) is not such a good idea as you might first think. In your design, the A and B buttons need to be in the optimum position and not have anything else in their way.
well what about this? did some thinking and this i think would be the best set up... of should i put the C buttons on the other side of the A B Z R buttons?
