which classic compute to get?

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

which classic compute to get?

Post by themadhacker »

My grandma's work has a room with 20 years worth of crashed computers. Her boss is finally letting me have one to restore or to salvage parts from. Well, If there are any classic 80's computers, I will be getting one of them to fix up. So I have a few questions: out of the C64, Ataris, amiga, and apple, which has the most games and best hardware (for thier time) ? right now, I am leaning more towards the c64 and the atari computers.

Get everything C64, Atari and Amiga. If you don't have room for the stuff, you can sell it on ebay.

I'd go with the apple computers, but maybe thats just because i grew up using them and never really used c64's or atari computers till recently when i wanted to go back and try some stuff I never had the chance to. And to further answer your question, you can probably find about the same amount of games for each cause they where all pretty popular.

Go for the Amiga stuff. Best hardware and software of the time.

It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.

Take the C64's and Ataris. Even if you don't use them, rip out the SID and YM chips (Which are the audio chips) and send them to me. I'll have us for them.
