I'm totally on the same page as you are, Dr. Jay. I am always so hesitant to carve up any legacy hardware. I don't care if it is E.T. for the 2600 or Superman for N64. It still hurts me a little deep inside to destroy any of this stuff. I wouldn't feel so bad if this stuff was still being produced. But this stuff is now inherently limited edition. It's no longer being made and every time you destroy one, it's being taken off the face of the earth. Before long, there will be very few, if any, left. And you know what that means!? It means E.T. and Superman will go for hundreds of dollars or more! And that's just crazy!! So, please, preserve your crap so it doesn't become a collector's item. And if it does, you can cash in on it.

I do, each console I make for my Multi Platform system needs two butchered N64 carts, for the trace boards - to connect the power and control signals between the screen and control section and console section. My Mini system needs a GameBoy original or GameBoy Color cart to hack up for the same reason.Gamelver wrote:Wait, why would people take apart the actual games?
Only the crap games get mutilated, the others get sold if I have a surplus, or played in my collection.
