Hip Gear in Ben's CNC NES

I am going to build Ben's CNC NES, and was wondering if I could use a Hip Gear screen in it, because I don't feel like spening $100 on the Casio LCD TV.

I think the cnc portables in project 42 use a 3.5" lcd. although you probably could use the hip screen pad, it's a 2.5" lcd so you'd need to make a bezel for it. You'd also need to make some custom screwposts to mount it.

Actually the Casio is 2.5", so theoretcially, all I need to do is hot-glue it in place.

Since the hip gear screen is smaller than a normal pocket TV, I see no reason why you couldn't fit it there with space to spare.

yeah why dosnt ben just Every thing you need for a portable: console, screen, PSU, controller.... then we would have no fun. personaly im staying away from that part of the site

Umm, can you please re-type this in a way that actually makes sence.

Oh, BTW, where can I buy a Hip Gear screen?

The CNC NES used a 3" screen, as the Hip Screens are 2.6" you'll have some area empty.

Hey, I've seen Hip Gear screens referred to as 2.5" and 2.6", but mine actually measures 2.3". This is bogus, since LCD screens are supposed to be measured by actual diagonal size of the viewing area (unlike CRT picture tubes, which go by tube size, and the viewing area may be 1-2 inches less). Does anyone have a Hip Gear Screen Pad with viewable area before disassembly measuring 2.5" or more diagonally?

I measured the lcd screen to be 2.5" diagonal while it's off. There is some black aroun the edges still when you turn it on, so the image is slightly smaller than 2.5"
