Flashback Hack
I know the Atari Flashback sucks, but it got me thinking when I found it at wal-mart. (No, not a BB gun vs. Steamroller debate.) Would it be possible to rig it up with a cartrige slot like those NOAC things? It would make Atari 7800 carts a lot easier to play!

No, I mean an Atari cartrige slot. Why would you buy a 40 dollar piece of junk just to play NES games?

know whats up
no no no no no no!
it does not use an nes on a chip!!! it uses something similar, but it is NOT an nes on a chip!
basically they rewrote all the games to run on whats called an fpga, its a type of programmalble chip that can be made to do almost anything imaginable...
it would be stupid for them to use an nes on a chip because they would have to take the atari games and rewrite them for the nes, which would be a lot of work...
this forum amazes me more and more each day...

Want me to take pics? I can if you want. It has a few glop tops... A simple 7805 reg/ av out board, and thats about it.
Honestly...
(Though Ill still post pics if someone reminds me.
)
Im amazed by you. You just said: why would they rewrite the games for nes, thats too much works. But yeah, they used a harder to work with thing, thats more expensive, and harder work with, and rewrote the games for it....basically they rewrote all the games to run on whats called an fpga, its a type of programmalble chip that can be made to do almost anything imaginable...

i was simply trying to correct you guys!
it wasn't meant to be nasty, but it may have "sounded" that way because i was in a baaad mood at the time of the writing...
i was just trying to emphasize that it is ESSENTIALLY running an emulator of the atari system, and therefore cannot run any external games...
i was trying to correct the statement about it running nes games...thats wrong.
these things have NOTHING to do with the nes...nothing at all...
and it probobly WASNT harder for them to rewrite it for a custom designed chip because they are just emulating modified versions of the roms...iirc...
