PS1L Playstation laptop help!!!

OK. So I have an original playstation. Not a PSone, a playstation. the really big blocky ones. And i'm trying to make a laptop out of it. I have taken it all apart and was suprised to see how small the motherboard was. My question to you is, where do I go from here and where should I get parts? I want a small screen, maybe a 7", but where is one that has a "video in"? AAnd there's also the question of the battery. My unit takes 15v DC. IF i had a PS one, i'd only be looking for a 7.5 volt. What's the smallest, lightest 15 volt battery out there? Or, could I somehow solder off some bits of the motherboard so it wouldn't need so much power? And, last but not least, how do you get/make a case for a portable? I think I have the shell of an old Powerbook 1400cs lying around somewhere, but I'd rather use a smaller case than that. This is my first console mod ever, so I'll need a LOT of help.

i wouldnt recomend using a psx for a laptop being so big and bulky.
im not an extreme case maker, but i think Ben used an existing laptop case (for ps3p). For my ps1p, im using a aluminim chocalate box i found which is the exact size i need and im probaly going to put binder cardboard over it. go nuts for your laptop. for parts go to radioshack or ebay, and the screen, i think ben hacked a laptop screen. you could look that up. also, you should've been a bit more prepared before you started this project ( i learned that a bit too late, and i couldnt play my psone for like 3 weeks before i got a new one

Ben CUSTOM re-read it CUSTOM made the case for the 360 laptop
Just make your own its easier because it is specific to what your making

but he's talking about the ps3 laptop

And it would be easier to make your own with aluminum or something fairly easy to work with like that.

Thanks for all the replys everyone. my PS1L has been on the backburner for a while now, as i have been doing other console-related hacks (Nintendo DS Wi-Fi Quake deathmatch, anyone?) But now i've decided to go out and buy a PSone and see what I can do. The battery was the biggest issue, and a PSone will fix that. Hopefully, in a few months, i'll have all the first five NFS games, 007 racing, Final Fantasy, and many, many more in my pocket. Oh, and by the way, could I use a slot-loading CD drive in place of the built in one? That would be incredible.

Yes, use the PSone not the PS1 board.

BTW - Monkey - your avator is nice but far too big - offsets everyone else's posts as it is so large. Try 80x80 pixels...
