I cuarently own a portable gamecube with a qoob pro mod chip (probably the best gc mod chip avalible for GC) I also had sd gecko,I know there are lot of methods or load stuff and "backups" to the gamecube, but I consider this extremly interesting cause this replace fully the hardest thing to mod/portabilize the gc (yes, I´m talking about the gamecube DVD drive) this also replace the Gamecube minidvd´s with microsd cards (really small) it also ask it can storage up to 32 GB (the gamecube dvd drive only can read 1,4 gb) anyway it depends what microsd card you use, but this mod can help lot of portable makers with their challenges, it also allow play lot of games without need change disc and be able to load homebrew, it is basically another hack method and an huge help for the portabilizerstom61 wrote:It doesn't seem to have ever been released to the public, nor has the schematics/programming.
You can, however, get close using just a modchip loaded with the right software, and a Gecko SD card adapter or compatible. You can flash SDLoad to at least one mod chip out there, and there is a program to load commercial games from the SD interface. The problem is that the commercial loader isn't very compatible, and you can't use SDHC cards (which means a max of 4GB cards).
