Im think a ZN-45 case is that a good choice?
Im also thinking wooden too.

a zn-45 would be HUGE for this project. all of the boards are very small in the gn twin. you'll end up with tons of empty space. if you are just going for the layout of the zn-45, then use a zn-40. there will still be lots of extra space tho.

i have no way to really record sound well. my camera is not good for recording. and besides, there isn't really a game that sounds horrid on the gn twin. the mixing wasn't correct on the sonic games, but nothing was horrid. i stated in my review that it has slight sound differences, but i hardly even noticed them. the sg/fc dual action had the most sound issues, and the gen-x wasn't much better sound wise than it. this is one of the reasons why i've always recommended getting the gn twin over the others.

basically, just test out your system before gutting it. if the slight sound differences don't bug you, then you're golden!

The sound problems really bugged me. I have very sensitive ears that can pick up every little difference, and when sound has static(late Genesis 1s and most Genesis 2s) or scratching(Gen-X and one of my Genesis 2s), it grates my ears.
A good way to record sound of the GN Twin is to use your computer's Line In. To do that, you'd need a cable that has 2 RCA plugs and a headphone plug(this: http://shop.eurobatteries.com/images/1% ... 20jack.jpg)
If the cable you buy has male RCA jacks, you will need a female-female RCA adapter to link the GN Twin's audio outputs to the Y-cable. If you ever happen to get Thunder Force II, I'd like to hear what it sounds like on the GN Twin, as that game sounds horrible on the Gen-X.
Speaking of crappy sound, do you remember Sonic the Hedgehog sounding like this on your Gen-X: http://rapidshare.com/files/146925533/S ... X.zip.html
Did the same thing happen on the GN Twin or SG/FC Dual Action? If not, how do they compare to the Gen-X?
By the way, I already gutted my Gen-X. Now, because of a failed reconnecting of the stock mixing/amplifying circuit, all Genesis audio is absent.

Okay? It's EAR-GRATING! Hell, even crappy original hardware does better than that. It doesn't come anywhere near that sound-wise on original hardware.

The sound difference it negligible. I can barely notice. If your done with lost planet then go ahead and make the trade.

I must have unusually sensitive ears, as I can easily perceive all sound problems and I can't stand them.

Would it work to remove the Gen-X's NES board and use the rest to put it into my Genesis 3? If so, of what use would the NES board be? Would it be difficult to add in a power switch/reset button/controller ports/power supply + AV outputs?

Well, I decided not to post pics until im done but it will have a nice 3" Screen, Hooray Casio, that can switch to The TV part somehow with a switch...Any help?
