Aughhh! LEDs burning out with 10ohm 1W Resistor! Help!

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Aughhh! LEDs burning out with 10ohm 1W Resistor! Help!

Like the title says. I LED modded my PS1 screen, added the 10ohm resistor, connected to 5v, blah blah blah. So all that's finished, but a multimeter test shows that my LEDs are getting 5v still, and 3 have burnt out already! They're wired in parallel. What should I do?!? My portable must be done tonight, so please reply! Quickly! Ahhhhh! :x

Maybe the resistor is broken, try a different one?

You might have the wrong resistor value. What are the specs of the LEDs you're using?
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies, I got it to work. Apparently I should have used a 20ohm resistor. It works great, and my portable is finished! New topic to be in the News section soon! ^_^
