I have two busted screens. The lights probably work. How can I test them?

Wait, didn't I already offer these to you? Deja-vu...

Hey, sorry about that IM thing, my internet just randomly crapped out at the worst time.

Here are the pics you wanted.

In this one you can see the surface mount LED's.

I tried testing it, but I can't get either one I have to light up... It should be as easy as connecting the + and - lines to a battery, but maybe I did it wrong. (Or maybe I broke it! )

EDIT: I can get individual LED's to light up, but not more than one at a time... Very strange.

I think the problem is, the ribbon cable being so small, it requires a extremely good connection to work. :?

I dunno, so what do you want for it?

Tried bridging that other SMT component? Might be a fuse that got blown.

I'll let Dr. Killgood bridge it if he wants. I can confirm that all 4 LED's do in fact work, so if it takes soldering leads to each one to use them, you could do that.

But say that in the second picture, the visible solder points are labeled one to 10, from left to right. If I put the negative line of a AA battery pack on 1 and the positive on 2, the first LED will light up. Shouldn't they all light up if I put the negative on 1, and the positive on 8?

As for how much, I doubt these are even worth very much, but I do need money. Make an offer.

Dr. Killgood, if you are using them for my idea, I would say a better source would be to buy some broken DS phats on ebay. Buy them, replace the screen, pull the light panel from the old, busted screen, sell DS on ebay. You will get what you want, and make a tidy profit. And in case you are hesitant to try fixing DSs after your DS Lite debacle.... DS phats are WAY easier to fix. I can pop one open and have the screen replaced in less than 5 minutes (The top screen does not even need a triwing), while a DS Lite takes at least 20.

Actually, I just realized, these are backlit. The screen is in front of the LED's...

What?

Hmmm... What firmware is that DS running? All models with v5 and up firmware had a new screen revision, and a few v4s as well.
