Ive allways loved my OLD Game Boy a lot but I have withdrawn frm it a lot alte ly to play the GB games on the SNES or the GBA SP.

I wanted to know if it would be possible to put a Game Boy Advanced SP in the case of an Original Game Boy, keeping the rechargable battery system and such

POWER GAMEBOY

It is a GBA SP in a Gameboy original (Brick) shell. It has

*relocated cart slot, moved to the original gameboy cart slot
*a slightly brighter than stock SP lighting panel
*stereo headphone jack
*standard SP charge port
*link port
*FM radio tuner
*Bluetooth sound transmitter (Allows for transmission of sound to bluetooth headphones and headsets)
*All buttons remapped to GB controls, using button membrane, not tact switches
*2000mah li-ion cell
*Pharos GPS-360 GPS reciever module with custom map support (Allows you to use the power gameboy as a GPS system)
*L and R triggers on back of case.
*Uses GB volume wheel for volume control
*IR universal TV remote, wired to the dpad and action buttons
*GBA accelerator, allows for slow mo, normal speed, fast, and hyper speed overclocking, cycles through speeds by pressing L, R, and select.
EDIT: OMG I forgot the best part!
*custom built 4 way digital motion sensor, just tilt the gameboy in the direction you want it to press the dpad! I have got to get a vid to show it off.

The back of the case. The flashcart sticks out bcause it is larger than a standard cart, normal carts fit in PERFECTLY flush. The L and R buttons are slightly recessed into the case, they are those two white buttons.

My GPS sensor is a later model set at 9600baud, more accurate by a small degree. I was having a LOT of trouble figuring this out. It can get a fix on location, but for some reason, the NMEA position data starts to garble. I am betting on the fact that the wire I used has high resistance, gonna fix that soon.

This thing took FOREVER to make. I basically got everything "working" but it still needs a few final touches (Circuit mounts, shorten the wires, fix NMEA, etc.

I think I have the distinction of being the first benheck member to ever build GPS, motion sensing, OR bluetooth audio transmission into his portable! Three firsts!:lol:

TOTAL Hottness!!

I think mine wouldnt have to be so complex I would just do the swap, add the power port and thats about it. oh and have it use the battery from the SP.

I was actually inspired by Cennar's GBOMG... His was the same thing, but he did not rewire the buttons (Only put the GBA mobo under the buttons, lame clicky feel), he did not put the screen flush with the case, he just put it underneath the GBO screen lense with a hole cut in it, and the cart slot came out of a hole in the bottom.

The biggest hurdle is rewiring the cart slot, it ALMOST fits, but in the end, to make it work well in the normal slot, you need to desolder and extend it.

Glad someone likes my work.

I have a few more upgrades before I post a news topic.

Got your email, I will have to think about this. Its still a lot of work, and I am busy with school and stuff right now.

Maybe... MAYBE a basic tut, I will make. Don't hold me to it, though.
