Wrong screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Wrong screen

Post by zzattack »

Hi, today I got a screen through ebay, it was listed as the original PSOne screen. However the the screen I got isn't quite that one. Can I still use it? And a more general question, should I give negative feedback, ask for a different screen, or something else? thanks

I'd give negative feedback if it was advertised as the official screen as it obviously isn't. Should send it back as falsely advertised.

A lot fatter than the usual screens so would be as practical but would still be useable. Isn't as well documented so will be harder to modify though :(

Thanks.

I've contacted the seller.
This was the ebay listing by the way, http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0269759007

Not quite advertised as "original psone screen" but definitely way different than the picture suggests. I'll await his response for now.

Yes. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on everything we sell. If you are not happy with it, return it for a refund or replacement.
According to his eBay, the seller should give you either a refund or replacement. Not to sure that'll include shipping costs. Hope it does.

He offered a $10 refund or I could send the screen back again for a full refund. Like that I would have paid $40 on shipping and got nothing. Now I have a screen for about 25 euros. At least now I can get started on my portable, as my retro duo console came in the mail as well today.

I went through a similar situation once. The auction was for a Zenith GameCube screen (even said that in the auction) but I was sent an Intec screen. Contacted the seller, told him the Intec screen was useless to me (because of its size - wouldn't fit in my project), and asked if I should send it back. His response was "no don't send it back". Several days later I received another Intec screen in the mail. What the heck was he thinking? Oh well, I sold the two Intec screens and used the money to get a Zenith screen from a different seller.

Sorry that you got ripped off dude. :(
That thing the guy sent you is an ugly useless pile of crap.
If you get know buyers i have know idea what you could do with it.
As long as you don't use it in a portable... very low quality.

Correction:
If you get no buyers i have no idea what you could do with it.
Even then, still not correct grammar, but at least the right words for the wrong grammar.
