help

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

They are on the back of the circuit board, in the middle near the bottom. Use a large blob of solder, or if that's too difficult you might try using a paper clip or some other small piece of metal to lay on top of those and try soldering to that. Whenever I use resistors or LEDs in projects, I save the leads after snipping them off to use for jumping stuff exactly like this.

Oh, well then that completely makes a difference. Of course it's going to be different - the whole "hpl hps hpr" deal is in relation to a Sony PSOne/Zenith LCD screen. You will have to figure out how the headphone jack works with your screen because it's different.

LoB, you crack me up. :D

anyway, john, DVD player screens can be so different from eachother. What model is it and who makes it? sometimes if nobody can help, the only option you get is using a multimeter to figure out what gets power and when, or by desoldering and resoldering to see what gets messed up :) .

Amen to that. Hacking and modding stuff = building your critical thinking and analysis skills.

sorry, I've never opened one of those. is there anything that looks remotely familiar? things that line up similarly near the video or audio jacks?

can you put up a hi res picture of the board?

Well, you're in a tough situation, aren't you?
Help us help you; POST PICS.
Anyway if you get sound then it isn't the HP_L HPS HP_R leads that you are looking for. (I think :? )
Follow the leads from the composite video in.
The HP stuff won't be labelled anyway since it's a portable dvd player.
I got nothing.
Sorry, just get some pics of the board, big pics so I can follow the leads.
I hope at least some of that helped.
