So like, what are all the parts I need to do this, and are their better laid out instructions?

excuse me? what's wrong with that?Bibin wrote:Before you even start, do not build a bastardized GameGear "portable" with a larger screen.
forget someone here was doing just that?
anyway, you need to know what version of game gear you have before you can attempt to do the mod. you need to know if you have a 1 or 2 chip board. the mod on the page you show is only for the older 2 chip versions.
EDIT:
here are some links with more info.

the mod is much more simple if you have a 2 chip game gear. they are just apparently more difficult to come by. but the mod is much more simple. unfortunately, i have a 1 chip game gear. which means i HAVE to do the more difficult mod.
segasonicfan updated the 2 chip diagram so it's the easiest to follow and such.
this is the 1 chip diagram. it will also work on 2 chips.

i think my problem right now is that the csync, r, g, and b lines are all at the wrong... umm... not voltage, but you know... for the psone screen to accept. i want to see about hookin it up to my tv and seeing if it works properly there or not. if it does, that will get me one step closer to figuring out how to get it to work on the psone screen.
