I came across the worst case cutout I've ever seen today, and I could only feel agony for the NES console that was hacked away at with what I can only assume is a herd of wild mice that have a taste for polypropylene and abs plastic.

There is something called a Nibbler Tool, and it will save your life (or at least your dignity) if you are ever looking to mod cases made out of plastic or soft metal.

Yeah, I think most of us here are beyond that kind of half-arsed destruction. Don't understand why I'd need yet another tool to do what I have at least a dozen others to do.

I know and recognize the method. It is the "I lost my other tools so I am using dikes to cut it apart" method. And I have used it for BOTH of my portable cases! And I am proud. Of course, frankencases made of plastic and bondo are a bit more forgiving.

But seriously. Just looking at the nibbler makes my hand go numb. Used it to cut a lot of stuff when I was in Tech Theater. After a day of nibbling things you hand cramps up bad.

There is nothing wrong with hacksaws either. This person just doesn't know the way of the saw.

For that kind of a cutout, a Dremel, a fine file, and some sand paper taped to a Popsicle stick are my preferred tools.
