Anyone ever make a custom PMP for divx and Vob?

i found an old Gameboy Original and was looking to do something with it and was thinking about a noac but i already have like a million different things that can emulate it.

then i realize i don't have a dedicated media player and decided to look for a divx and DVD (VOB) player so i went online and found this

it looked small enough to fit inside the gameboy and now i need a screen.

I was hoping to spend under 50 for a 3in screen but all i found for that price range is a hip gear 2.6in screen

is 2.6 bug enough to read subtitles off of?

also from the specs of that thing it says it takes 5v 1Az which is an awful lot

if i use the hipgear screen without audio and led mod how many hours could i get using 4 1.2 NiMH AA 2600mah batteries? or should move onto Lithium batteries instead?

Can I use two 3.7v 3600mah PSP batteries to power both the screen and the tv card reader?

also if i decide to do LED mod do i need to desolder the inverter for the CCFL backlight tubes?

also has anyone been able to use Surfacce Mount LEDs for backlighting an lcd panel?
