an idea for wii portable
first of all, this is just an idea, and I don't know if it's been used before. second, I probably won't make this until nintendo comes out with a new system in 6 or more years.
well, here's the concept. It would have a biult in controller for GC and VC games. then, there would be a detatchable stand for when you want to play wii games . there would be a built in sensor bar too, and the thing would be about 8 inches wide.
ms paint concept http://s529.photobucket.com/albums/dd33 ... t=wiip.jpg
also, I don't care if anyone wants to take my idea, so be my guest and make this thing.
EDIT: forgot to draw speaker holes

something like this aplied directly to the wii?techknott wrote:I had an idead for a handheld by putting the sensor bar led's on a pair of glasses or something.
Then all you do is move your head slightly to simulate the controller being moved(controller sensor's being built into handheld).
I bet it'd be possible to turn a wiimote into a glove of some sort. Aim with index finger, flick wrist to use accelerometers, buttons either in the palm or added to the nunchuk. It would take quite a bit of work, but awesome to pull off. More in the design than actual build time, since the majority of it is just relocation.
Also, for your IR glasses, not to rain on your idea or anything, but it's not a good one. From a technical standpoint, it's great, ease of use standpoint, it's great, from your necks standpoint, it aches.

You could have the motion sensor and IR sensor built into the portable. Then have the IR LEDs in the stand/box, which you place a couple feet in front of you. The only difference from playing on a normal tv is that the screen moves too. You'd want to have the accelerometer be rotatable, so you could play games in which you're supposed to hold the wiimote sideways.
The only problem is the nunchuck, at least if you want to take advantage of its accelerometer moving different than the wiimote's.
