IDEA!

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

well It seems that this Idea would work, rendering the expansion pack useless and saving countless future portabilizers the headache of the jumperpack-expansion hassle!
i followed you from the begging and couldn't understand why people think you're exceeding the max RAM. whateva.
great Idea.
three thumbs up if you get it to work and its going in my portable

Have you ever stopped to think that the RAM off of a FRIED board would still be valid???

yes, gordon I have thought about that, but I still haven't fried a board, and I don't have any "new" generation n64s, only the 1997 ones. I would like to see you do it though, and I may try it if it works.

Every single game will choke and die :) Most games have the first meg or so dedicated to the framebuffers and depth buffer, with the code placed after that.
And this is assuming there aren't any errors during the RCP's intialization when it finds that once bank doesn't exist.
