But i'm kind of new to this. Can you relocate the catridge slot on a megadrive II? Can you make the mobo smaller?

I also need a reliable cheap place or auction on ebay to buy a screen. 7 inches or smaller.

I'll probably want to buy a prebuilt case once I get the concept done.

Any other advice you can give would be great. Bare in mind I have read many threads on the forum already ;)

Thanks very much

BTW i'm from england

you might want to read the info stickies at the top of this sub-forum.

The only thing I see is the AV information for a megadrive II. On the cart directory link at the bottom I get a 404 error.

read through old threads. most of the questions you've asked have been answered time and again. this forum is a wealth of knowledge. just take the time to find it.

To be honest I didn't just come on here without looking. I've been through most sections. I'll search for the cartridge slot relocation thing but I really would like a good link on some cheap LCD's.

well, the screns that I mentioned (GC ps1 xbox) should work, but if you live in a PAL area, make sure you don't buy a ntsc screen.

-You can relocate the cartridge slot of a megadrive 2.
-You can make the motherboard smaller by cutting off grounding strips.
-The best cheap screens I've seen are Zenith Xbox screens for about $20 shipped on ebay, but if you need a PAL screen I don't know what to tell you.

I've got my 4th megadrive portable i the works right now. Its also based on a megadrive 2 like yours. I'm using the psone screen with RGB. I would recomend a psone screen, but right now theres hardly any on ebay UK (the last time i checked). I'm not bothering with a cart slot relocation, i'm just having the cart sticking out the back.

Yes but I was planning on a sort of laptop design while still using most of the original case. So the cartridge holder would have been slightly in the way :/

Yeah, but they tend to come up again every 1-2 months.

Whoop, just bought a PS1 screen for 9 pound. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself :D

I might make this "portable" a lot simpler than originally planned. I still wish to fit a battery though.

Are these correct?
