Acer AL2016W inverter PSU board

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Acer AL2016W inverter PSU board

Post by dunkonu »

I have took apart my broken Acer AL2016W lcd monitor.

Below is the photo of the inverter/power board.

Can anyone help me to identify which part is the inverter and which part is power supply?

I am trying to split them.

Thanks

Just replace the busted blue thing.

I am sure someone else can tell you what it is called/if it is dangerous to touch the white stuff coming out.

i dont think that will be easy to split, it doesnt look like they are distinctly seperate parts on the board.

That white stuff looks like that glue they use on some components to keep them from moving too much. Is it hard? Or is it newer and soft?

Killgood, that's just glue. Leaked capacitor electrolyte looks like chalky rust.

Seriously. Do a little research before you jump to conclusions.
