Fans without connectors

Hi everyone. Im planning on starting something up soon (once i can get my hands on everything i need). one thing i want to do is use some small fans for this, however most of the ones i see have the 2 wires coming from them, and no way to connect them (to a motherboard persay).

is there a way to get connectors for them? how would you go about attaching them?

thanks for any info you have on this.

Depends. Is it a computer motherboard, or a console motherboard? If it's a console one, go right ahead and solder it. With computer ones, I'd recommend taking advantage of the modularity of computers and either making your own plug out of existing other fans that may be broken, or finding an alternate way. Maybe get a molex connector and hook it up to the power supply; this is a lot harder to mess up and lessens the risk of permanent computer damage.

right, its to a motherboard, and one i wouldn't want to copulate up.

i guess taking an existing fan connector would be the easiest thing to do. thanks.

also, the fan might be attaching to a plastic piece, is there a good way to do this? some kind of glue (i'd like to avoid drilling screw holes if possible)

Let me guess Radio shack fans?
And to attach use hot glue it works wonders, or make a metal attachment(Harder, longer, more expensive by $.79 but way cooler looking if done right)

i was thinking hot clue would work, but was kinda wondering if that might damage any components (like of a laptop cd drive). the other idea would be to build some small shelf of some kind and find a way to attach that instead.

and i think they are radio shack fans, although im not sure, they were just some olds one lying around around our office somewhere.

If you can, just use screws to attatch it.

well im a bit unsure if screws are even a viable option, with it being a laptop cd drive, it might not have any holes to screw in to. the fans would be fine if that were the only option, and im not even sure where ill be putting the fans, so a screw might be completely out of question.

I'm not entirely sure why you are trying to put fans on a laptop CD drive - unless that is just your mounting point, of course.

hehe, things seem to have gotten a bit mixed up i see.

i need to mount both, but independently, to the same material (plastic, a bit thin too, so a screw might end up sticking out, which i dont want). the cd drive is the main concern, as the fan might become optional depending on how efficient the cooling is.
