Best way to discharge cells?
I just got 6 new NIMH cells, and I was told to discharge them completely and re-charge to full charge... what is the best way to discharge them? My portable won't discharge after about 7.0 cause thats when it cuts off. :S

12 inches of steel [picture hanging] wire. Or short enough that it gets pretty hot.
Optionally, measure the current with a multimeter to find a good length.
We were doing single lithium cells through about 2 feet of much thicker wire (~14awg). At a rate of like 5C, or 20A. Fun times.
