pics of Genesis 3 board ?

can someone post pics of the inside of the genesis 3 in comparison to something like a cartridge?

I plan on doing a portable, but not sure of what system to use. If the gen 3 mobo is small enough, I mihgt use it.

Personally, I think a GameGear looks like a fairly poor effort. It shouts "hobbyist" look from the outside and certainly inside, if you open it up; not a commercial product.

So what? Answer the question at hand! You gripe about what other people like and get pissy when someone doesn't like your stuff. Quit griping when someone just has an honest question, it's getting really old. We know you hate GameGears, we know you hate LED glow, you don't need to tell us every time someone asks about it.

MadHacker- I haven't been able to find my Genesis 3 to take pictures yet. I don't know where I stashed it, but as soon as I find it, I'll get you some pictures. Exactly what kind of pics do you want?

I would like to see a picture of the mobo next to a cartridge for size comparison. also, how well is compatability with the gen 3?

EDIT: please no fighting about your views of other members. I just want someone to answer my question. and btw game gear is one of my favorite handhelds.

No, it never was, nor can it fit. That topic was about shoving a modded Radica in a GameGear, and even that was deemed nearly impossible by one of the most talented portablizers we've got.

CTFan's right. I threw a GG in some of the shots, and I don't see how it possibly could be done without relocating way too many minuscule traces. Even if you could do that enough to get the board down, that's an awfully thick sandwich with very little room for any screen. The GN Twin might do it, but it is still a GOAC.

Anyway, pics, as requested.

The opened Genesis 3, a GG, and a regular Genesis cart.

Same shot, but focusing in the G3 and cart.

Bare mobo and cart.

That board is 4 3/4" square, not counting the bit of the controller ports that stick out. I've never actually used this, since I got it recently, and I already had a 2. The only thing I know about compatibility issues is that it will NOT work with the 32X.

Thanks for the pics. If I try try to make a portable with one, I won't need the 32x or sega cd (would neeed lots of power), so seems good enough for me
