If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
I recently bought two zenith screens in a lot on e-bay as is. The one works great the other does nothing. I tried switching the bases still nothing. So I opened it up. The smell of burnt electronics hit me as soon as I cracked the plastic apart and this is what I saw...
It looks to be a blown capon the top left it even melted the plastic on the other half of the screen. I tried jumping it just to see what would happen and all that happened was after a few seconds the screen started making a buzzing sound and stunk the whole room up (no smoking though). Any ideas as to what I could do with this or is it a lost cause?
all of my zenith screens have that around the capacitor. it's just some sort of glue they use on them. all of my screens work fine and look exactly like that one. i think your problem is elsewhere.
I also just noticed the tube isn't lighting up. I don't think power is getting to anything except for whatever is making that buzzing sound. Does anybody know if this thing has any fuses?
