Remove search time limit?

Post by vskid »

There is a time limit between searches on the forum. I find it very annoying. I search for a word, and then I see that my search was way too broad. When I go back and narrow my search, I have to wait a couple minutes before I can do the search again.
Could we get this limit removed, at least for members?

I don't see an option in the admin panel to change the delay. Sorry. :(

Me too.

Do searches put considerable load on the server?

Thanks too.

Why did the time delay exist in the first place?

Also, I find that it seems to search for every term you put in and show them all, rather than only show threads that have every term.

Select "search for all terms" under the search box. It doesn't seem to work all the time, but it is a lot better than the "search for any of the terms" option.

When you perform a search, the server has to go through every post in the database and search it for your term. This is a relatively time consuming process, and doing it repeatedly could bog down the server for everyone else.

Well, there's our reason.

It annoyed me too.

[joke]I dont think it would bog down the server too much, just look at all the topics that say "SEARCH!"[/joke]
