Package lost!?

Post by Dr. KillGood »

So I sold a game on e-bay, hard to find game Doom for GBA.

Anyway 2 weeks later and the buyer says they still have not gotten the package, I got insurance on it though(and told them I did :? ).

How do I file a clam with USPS about a lost package I never expected it to actually happen? No idea where to start!? (or their full of crap.) I did not get a tracking number or delivery confirmation.

PS: I shipped it priority mail so it should have been 2-3 bus. days.

Go to the post office and bring the receipt from when you shipped it, the clerks there might be able to you. Why the heck didn't you having tracking on it? I thought PayPal/Ebay had to have that for seller protection...

You need the receipt to do something about it. If not, just go back to the place where it was shipped and hope they still have you in their database. After two weeks, I doubt it, but you might as well check.

Though if you really got it insured as you said, you should have a tracking number... :?

Just go to the post office, they should know what to do (its only they're jobs).
I usually at least get delivery confirmation for the stuff I send out. Then I know if the recipient is telling the truth about whether or not they got the package. I get insurance mainly for stuff worth $50 or more.

Err, you can just write on the box the address, and then get delivery confirmation separately at the post office counter.

There is a form to fill out at the post office. They will attempt to track down your package by retracing the steps that it should have taken and attempt to have it delivered. If it cannot be, the package is returned to you. However, the search doesn't always get results.

Well I insured it for $30.00 so would I get paid $30.00 if they cannot find it?

This is why you pay 75 cents and get delivery conformation. Never had to claim a package as lost though so I cant help you there.

I hate to be a cynic, but I'd agree with Rekarp, he's probably full of crap. How's his feedback on eBay? I only say this because of all the packages I've shipped through USPS via Priority Mail (over 100, at least) they've never lost one.

Sellers can't give negative feedback to buyers.
