How much smaller than the original NES are the guts? Is it a significant amount? I'd be interested in seeing a side-by-side comparison of just the mobos.

i don't have an original toaster, or else i'd show a pic of them side by side... sorry!

I have two original "toaster" NES units, got one for free and one cost me £4. Normally they are about £20-£30 each.
I will be modding one to get rid of the flashing; and sell it; the other one will be used in my multi-platform system and I will e-bay the toaster unit - they are supposed to be collectible and not easy to get hold of.
ok, i took some pics and measurements. now, if someone else can take some pics of the toaster board with an nes cart in the pic and give measurements, we can know the difference!
the board is ~4 1/8" x ~6 1/8"
an nes cart is ~4 3/4" x ~5 1/4"
with the well known zn-40 case

Here's some pics of the original NES motherboard with the RF modulator removed:
It measures 7 3/4" by 5 1/4" by 1 1/8" (including the original cartridge slot). And if anyone was wondering why I have a modified NES board laying around, I'm building a second NES portable that I plan to enter in the contest if I finish it in time.
