Hi, all!

You may have seen my other thread about the case for this mod, but this one is for general modding tips.

I am trying to make a zelda-themed GBC and would like some help with general de/reconstruction.

First of all, quit taking stuff apart with a hammer. Great way to break something beyond repair. The tri-wing screwdrivers for Gameboys are less than $1 shipped on dealextreme.com

Yeah, if you don't have a triwing screwdriver, get one!

They're ultra useful, and are a necessity for our line of work. As for de/reconstruction of GBCs, what exactly do you want info on? As a matter of fact, what exactly do you intend on modding from a hardware standpoint? Overclocking? LEDs? Underclocking (though I don't see why...)? If it's just disassembly, the GBC is extremely simple in that respect, it's a solid mobo with a ribbon cable plugging into the LCD.

This might sound like a stupid question, but how many size variations do the tri-wings have?

Quite a few. They go from the teeny ones that the GB line uses, to even smaller on the GBMicro and DS, all the way up to ones about a 1/4" in diameter.

No hardware modding for this one. I have never done this before, and I think for this one I should just do a very basic mod.

Question - When you break up the board, where do you attach wires exactly?

Well truck, I have a tri-wing that can take apart a ds, gbo, gbc, gba, and mcdonald toys

I thought that was all you would ever need to take apart with a triwing.
