Thermostat Question

Do you know the make and model of this thermostat?

Is there any way to detach it from the wall? It'll probably say on the back.

I detached it, found some numbers at the back, I googled them, nothing.

No make and model at the back too.

Looks like it used to have some kind of flap covering the buttons... It probably said on there. Go look for it maybe.

I have the flap. I just took it off. I read it, nothing helped. I can get the fans to blow but the temperature won't cool.

"Hold" is lit up. Maybe its keypad is locked? Try holding the hold button down for a few seconds.

Take a bag of ice and put over it... and if that doesn't help anything try some hot water in a bag...

I'm assuming from the time of year, problem you stated, and general type of thermostat, that you have Central A/C. Have you checked outside to see if the Compressor is actually working? If it's on and not blowing cool air inside, then you need new freon, probably...

I hit buttons randomly and the compressor outside runs and the house cools.

I don't know about heat though.

Also, HOLD means "hold temperature," Which means keep the house at XX temperature.

Yeah, most central Air Conditioning systems with electronic keypads function similarly. Mine has the same "hold" feature. So, if it works, whats the problem? If the thermostat doesn't register your temperature decrease, it's probably the internal thermometer that's broken. Elsewise, I suggest contacting whoever services and/or installed your A/C, as they would be able to further assist you with finding out your particular problem, or fixing it.

Why? To clarify, what do you intend to use such information for? Whatever the case, the installer is likely the only person to know such information, if you no longer have it.
