The hard drive has 12 volt and 5 volt connectors. Either you'll not give your fan enough juice to start, or you'll burn it out. <s>Assuming it needs 50 mA to work properly, an 82 ohm resistor should knock the voltage down to within its tolerances (8.5v).</s> If you have the real power draw, use www.ledcalc.com to calculate the resistor.

Why are you trying to hook up a fan for your hard drive? 1. You don't need it. 2. Hard drives don't have a lot of surface area, so a cooling fan alone will make a negligible difference at best.

How about any other way to add an extra fan to the xbox-Bicostp's idea will not work the work

Swap the stock xbox fan for a 12v one if you really have problems, there are plenty of guides out there. I've only had my xbox lock up because of heat once (I had been playing KOTOR 2 for like 6 hours).

The reason is that I only have one fan a Hard Drive one, I know the Drive can slow gameplay with less power. So I used the HD power.
I am making a mod to my xbox which will overheat when I dont use another fan.

Using a fan won't break your xbox unless you overdraw your PSU. And it won't slow down your xbox.

For being a "computer god" you really don't know much about the basics of how electronics work.

Plus I guessed on a few questions.
And I also do things like that(Always double check, make sure every thing's safe, and I go through every possible scenario)Basically I worry a lot
