No reason you can't bypass the 7805 if you have 5v, but it needs to be 5v. As screens normally take more than 5v, it makes sense to use the 7805 to step-down the voltage to 5v for the SNES.

mothatrucka do you only read the first part of posts? I meant, who claim starting a portable make 10 posts then never check again.

The people who make 10 posts, and then leave are the noobs.
The people that stick around to help others, or just are working on their portables, are not.

Motha, you have to lay off some people.

Thank you for clearing that up valium! Made any progress on the portable, hacking the screen, whatever you are doing?

Mothatrucka, thanks for that post to that other guy. I figured you just hated me, but I guess you hate a lot of people! I guess I am just a n00b with no portable, either, yet here I am. (Note: I know not your definition, don't kill me).

In terms of getting money to make your portable, best way in the world is recasing DS Lites with busted hinges, then selling on ebay. $50-80 profit per unit for about a half hour of work! Or, rapid fire modding 360 controllers.

To address all of you at once, what pisses me off to no end is someone telling me what I do and don't know. DK did that. He needed to be straightened out, and that's what I did. I'm not in that class of ignorant wanna-bes he put me in, and I'm sick of people thinking I am. Go ahead and think I hate you, go ahead and think I'm a jerk. That's your opinion, you are perfectly entitled to think those, and it doesn't bother me at all if you do. But if you think I don't know what I'm doing, I will get pissed.

EDIT: Truck is the accepted short form of my name, not the "motha" part. Think Mother Trucker, and you'll understand why.

Yes, indeed; and the system I did/doing is a full-sized PAL SNES board. See my website.

Yes, you can take in 12v to the 7805 on the SNES; or as I did, 7.4v
Thank you :D

I will check out your site and cadge a few tips if thats ok with you
