No. 1; I'm probably older than him, and no, I'm not going to listen to him speak about things he has no idea about.

No.2 as for the quote... oh well

OH BOY. is it ever going to be fun proving you wrong, I also come armed with plenty of pics.

First off, You don't know everything! Ok, on with the slaying!!!

You say "Things I have not done?"
Damn right, you have not built one using the zn-40.

"And what have you accomplished?"
*Cough*

"zn45's which are only a little deeper than the zn40's."
If you call a inch an a half a little thicker! See for yourself. (This is for you Palmertech)

[im]http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... CF0075.jpg[/img]
"I It will not fit with internal batteries, okay?"
LIAR!!
[im]http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... CF0083.jpg[/img]
"No matter how much you want it to, any batteries worth their time will not fit internally."
Really, I forgot, but last time I checked 6.35Ah was a pretty decent size battery.
[im]http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... CF0084.jpg[/img]
[im]http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... CF0090.jpg[/img]
"And just where would you go about placing TWO fans? Now to that I can say: There is no room."
hmm, last time I checked 2 25mm by 10mm fans would fit perfectly in the sides of the case.
[im]http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn15 ... CF0087.jpg[/img]
You can see in the top corners. I even counter sunk the motherboard to save that much more room!
Never said I knew everything. What I said I knew I knew.

Nice PsoneP.

I have not built a zn-40 n64 portable. But neither have you. So far I have only seen a WIP. But thats all it is, A WIP and nothing more. However, I have finished 2 flawless, successful zn-45s. Which is, unlike your next statement, incredibly close. In fact....
If you call a inch an a half a little thicker! See for yourself.
Image
Evidence: http://www.polycase.com/category/size/e ... eries.html
Zn-45 = 2.363
Zn-40 = 1.675
Subtact the two to get: .688
I would hardly call that:
an inch an a half
The sizes are very close, enough to easily compare.

Yes, in a mockup, they do fit. however, only in a mockup. The cell sizes and amperage of my batteries and almost the same! Nice choice, I like those.

Onto the fans. Of course a fan of that size would fit, but what good would they do? Aside from wasting power circulating air through what is not an airtight case, I can see no benefit, unless your 3.3v stepdown gets super hot.

Anyways, a work in progress is not going to convince me. It is all still in theory, I could have showed you the same thing. A finished portable, however, would sucessfully prove that it can, and was done. Untill then, it stands possible in theory. You have proven that much, and I commend you!

Alright, I have made my points clear. I would like to see it finished, and if you are successful, congratz, welcome to the big leagues!

Shoot, I must have not been thinking straight about those thicknesses... oh well.

Fans, from what I have seen, these things make like 100*f so, really I don't need it. as for the air tight thing, these draw air through the structure, so the will do what I need them to do. as for the sucking up power, they draw a whopping 120ma together.

Sure it is a WIP but, I only need to make about another 179 connections and it's done. excluding case work.

Yeah, the guts can be annoying, but, the WIP is promising.

I dont blame you as far as the height, although it was a fun contradiction! :D

So, I think this thread is almost done now. Once Gordon is finished, anotherperson's question will be answered. Mainly my doubt was because I have no idea of Gordon1's skill, first impression was that he was a noob, but I was disproven there. And many have attempted and failed. Well, we've all learned a lot today. I feel like this portable will be the portable to end all doubt. I could use some company in the zn section anyway, LoB's snes portables are getting boring

*shakes gordon's hand*
"When you are finished, I will conceed defeat. Until then..."
*walks away*

You can't leave yet, SS. A hand shake does not cover it, you need a group hug.

Well, whats a group hug without grossaffe anyways? or Shock Slayer?

So basically we will have a nasty bloody static hug?

I went and measured my portabl again, I could probably make it thinner.

Nah, I'm sure we're fine with a handshake. (We've gotten way to off topic)

I see no reason to further prolong this topic.

Throughout the testimony and evidence we have discovered the truth. I hereby declare a verdict of:

Possible.
