EDIT: Looking over it it says the story is 7 years old.

Perpetual motion is possible in a permanent vacuum and at zero degrees kelvin - however this is so hard to replicate that it is virtually impossible to maintain. That is what my old Physics teacher told me about 25 years ago, anyway.

Thats not perpetual motion I don't think. Perpetual motion doesn't require more energy to be put into the system. This is even madder, it's claiming to create energy

Newton would be rolling in his grave as his firstlaw states "Energy cannot be created, just converted from one form to another".

I'll be happy to match EvilTeddy's offer of $10 and add in my time machine and pocket particle accelerator.

EDIT: by the way, if anything offers 'Perpetual Motion" or "free energy", 99 times out of 100 it's a scam.

in this universe anyway perpetual motion is for all intents and purposes impossible because of the first and second laws of thermodynamics. as far as modern science is concerned its not possible to have machines perform greater than unity (eg power output is greater than power input or a net gain of power) other than something like nuclear fusion or a matter/antimatter annihilation which is a 100% matter to energy conversion. every other source of power that we know if is just converting one source of energy to another at loss via friction, heat loss or other means
